Flood Recovery: Queen Mother Dr. Kathleen Harmon

Our beloved community member, Queen Mother Dr. Kathleen Harmon, her daughter Miss Donnetta D. Moore, and Kathleen's son were displaced from their Skyline home due to the January 22, 2024 floods.

Since that time, the family has been staying in hotels and incurring extra costs as a result of being away from their home in addition to the need for flood remediation to get back home.

Repairs to make the home safe again include removing flood damaged carpets, furniture, belongings, and roof repair, and it is unclear how long this will take or how much it will cost.

All funds raised will go directly to Queen Mother Harmon's and Miss Donnetta's accounts to aid these recovery efforts and ensure they can navigate all the extra expenses they are facing.

Queen Mother Dr. Kathleen Harmon, age 92, is an icon of love, community service, and powerful advocacy. Her life is marked by service having been a nurse, a social worker, a voting rights advocate, and a peace organizer, among so many other roles. She has lost family members to violence and turned the grief, suffering, and injustice into even deeper activism for her family and the community. She continually works to uplift the Black community and phenomenal candidates who help make the world a better place, and is an inspiration to all of us.

Please give generously to this woman who has given so much to everyone, to ease the discomfort and costs of being away from home, and to expedite her home repairs.
