Flood Relief - Rupanuga Bhajan Ashram, Vrindavan
Donation protected
We are devotees of Rupanuga Bhajan Ashram in Vrindavan inaugurated by Swami B.G. Narasingha Maharaja and led by Swami Bhakti Kishora Aranya Maharaja. Recently due to heavy rainfall in North India, the Yamuna River burst her banks and flooded the entire area in a record rise not seen in 45 years. We are requesting donations to help with the repair and cleanup operation in the ashram as significant damage has been done:
- Part of the ashram boundary wall collapsed.
- The gardens were several days under six feet of water in the lower part of the ashram.
- Our goshala and feed rooms were completely flooded and the cows had to be evacuated to higher ground.
- The deities had to be evacuated to the second floor.
- All the lower floors of our resident sevaites rooms are completely waterlogged and will need significant repair and cleanup.
- Our vehicles were partially submerged and will need repairs
All donations will be used for repairing and restoring the ashram to it's original condition so the services can go on.
We are in the process of getting a pump tractor to pump out the excess water from the property so cleanup and repairs can begin.
Through all the flooding our small group of sevaites are all safe and have stayed in the ashram to prevent further damage and continue taking care of the deities, cows and other services.
Donations will come to me and I will draw them out locally via ATM and Swami B.K. Aranya Maharaja will spend it accordingly.
