Flood The Killeen Family With Kindness!
Donation protected
The evening of August 23, 2020, a huge rainstorm and flash flood hit St. George, Utah.
In the dark and within an hour of the rain beginning, the Killeen Family was dealt a devastating blow.
A 20 foot section of the block property wall was washed out and two of their cars were destroyed when the water in the street rose, filling them to the seats of the vehicles.
As wall of water approximately three feet high rushed into their yard, 15 inches of mud and water filled the basement where two grown sons, daughter and son-in-law and their three children were living.
All of the furniture, appliances, and items that were touching the floor were destroyed. All of the carpet, baseboards, and three feet of insulation and drywall had to be taken out.
While incredibly grateful that no one was injured in this crazy storm, the Killeen Family is now faced with the expense and stress of trying to rebuild their basement as all nine of them crowd into the upstairs space of the home while being told that none of the damage is covered by insurance, as the water was surface water and is considered an act of God.
Many hands have made light work as volunteers have jumped in to help with clean up. Now, we can make many small donations go far as we flood the Killeen Family with money to help pay for all the repairs that need to be made.
Let's help them get this done!
