Floof’s Medical Bills
Donation protected
Hi there, my name is Ariel and this is my cat, Floof. Floof is one of three cats we have. She is a feline domestic long hair. We fostered Floof back in June. Within the first week of having her we noticed she had scabs on and around her head and neck. She appeared to be very itchy and would scratch them until the skin became raw and bloody ( pictures below). On July 6, 2020 we took her to VCA Animal Hospital and were told that Floof has a skin dermatitis and they were not exactly sure what was causing her flareups. She was given a depomedrol injection (a steroid) to help treat the inflammation and cefovecin (antibiotic) to help treat skin infection.
On July 29, 2020 I took Floof back to the hospital l because she was actively bleeding and scratching excessively. She was given a skin scrape to check for and and a panel blood test to check her immune system. They prescribed a sedative to give her for pain along with silver sulfadiazine (topical ointment).
Her blood work came back as negative and the doctor concluded she needed to be seen by a dermatolgist.
Unfortunately, we aren't able to take Floof to a dermatologist due to our medical bills we currently have. I have attached a copy of her medical bills to show what treatment she's had done so far along with the total cost.
We've paid the first bill of $233, but we now have a second for $676. We are trying to raise anything we can for Floof so that we can take her to see a dermatologist next.
Anything helps, but we realize that times are tough right now so if you are not able to donate we completely understand.
I will post an update on Floof once we are able to have her seen by a dermatologist.
Thank you in advance and thank you for taking the time to read about Floof!
