Flooring fundraiser - Bravo Rhythmic Gymnastics
Donation protected
The young athletes at Bravo Rhythmic Gymnastics need your help to buy professional shock absorption flooring that will keep them safe and allow them to achieve their best competitive results!
The gymnasts, who range in age from 4 to 16, currently practice on a thin carpet laid over a concrete floor. We worry that landing on this surface is not healthy, especially for growing kids, so we want to buy special padding to put under the carpet. Unfortunately, covering the gym with this shock absorption flooring will cost $40,000 (see cost details below). That’s where you come in. Your contributions toward our fundraising effort will directly help young gymnasts, so please give what you can and spread the word!
If you’re not familiar with rhythmic gymnastics, it’s an Olympic sport that combines elements of gymnastics, dance, and apparatus work using hoops, balls, clubs, and ribbons. Rhythmic gymnastics differs from artistic gymnastics (the sport many Americans know simply as “gymnastics”), and we encourage anyone who’s never seen it before to look up a quick video:) You’ll notice that we don’t use spring floors, but we do still need some padding under the thin carpet in order to keep athletes’ bones and joints safe. This becomes especially important as gymnasts move up in levels and start working on very physically demanding skills. Bravo trains rhythmic gymnasts up to the nation’s top levels, level 9 through 10 elite.

We are very proud of our athletes and can’t wait to see what they accomplish in the future, especially when practicing in a well-furnished gym!
