Flora's surgery fund

Hello angels. I’m Flora, a 34 year old trans woman living in London, and I’m raising funds to support the surgeries I need to finally live comfortably in my body.

I came out publicly as trans in 2018. I’m yet to access the healthcare I need through the NHS’s gender identity services, while top surgery remains unavailable publicly. After several mental health challenges in recent years, I’m now taking my healthcare into my own hands.

Throughout my adult life I’ve been fighting my body, and it’s a fight I can no longer sustain. Gender affirming surgeries will help bring a calmness and clarity to my day-to-day, that I’ve only felt fleetingly due to living with dysphoria. Without financial support, I will not be able to access these essential services, including the cost of consultations and recovery.

I’m a multifaceted queen, making music, playing football, and investing time, energy, and fundraising contributions to the queer communities I love. I’ve tried living in my body to the fullest despite my dysphoria, and have done the most I can to be joyful. This year I helped my women & non-binary football team win our first 5-a-side league title, and released my first music using my voice (I used to play drums in bands). Both my music and previous writing have explored trans themes of maternal desire, phantom body parts and transcendence, helping me to live more authentically. Despite this, my gender dysphoria has persisted, and without surgeries and further care, it will continue to be an unbridgeable gap between my present and future.
