Florence Park Defibrillator
Donation protected
An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) or defibrillator is a lifesaving device that can help save the life of someone experiencing a sudden cardiac arrest. They are easy to use, portable, with clear step-by-step instructions so anyone can use them, from a bystander to a trained professional.
• In the UK, there are more than 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests each year.
• Less than 1 in 10 people who have an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in the UK survive.
• For every minute without receiving CPR or defibrillation, the chances of survival decrease by up to 10%.
In short, installing a defibrillator can more than double the chances of saving someone’s life if they’ve had a cardiac arrest.
Installing a defibrillator could offer life saving support not only to the many users of Florence Park, but the surrounding residents, community groups and schools. The park hosts football matches and training, community events and is easily accessible in the event of an emergency. We are also lucky to have a well-used playground and multi use sports surface. Not forgetting the many dog walkers who meet every day.
Please help us raise money for this valuable piece of life saving equipment. Any additional funds will be held safely by the Florence Park Community Group and used for maintenance and upkeep, or to help similar projects.
There will be a minimum of two guardians who will regularly inspect the defibrillator and ensure it is always fit for use.
Many thanks for your support
