Florita Sumibcay and Family

Hi everyone, my name is Mele Bills and I am the oldest granddaughter of Florita Sumibcay of Lahaina. As well as first cousin to Cassidy Sumibcay. As we all may have seen on the news or on social media of what happened to our home of Maui, more so our dear Lahaina, everything is gone due to this devastation. This has been the longest, scariest, and saddest days we’ve had to deal with. My grandma, cousin Cassidy, Uncle Poli, as well as many other families have lost their homes, vehicles, belongings, and sense of stability and safety. We are forever grateful that many have made it out safely, while still remembering those who were not as fortunate. The fire destroyed everything these families have worked for. To hear my grandma’s voice last night was so heartbreaking, but we’re so blessed to still have them with us. If you know my mama, she would want you to know that her goats are doing well and they are safe!

I am hoping to start this to help relieve some stress and enable a starting point towards rebuilding. Even if it is just enough to obtain the necessities needed for them and others in the community!
