Do you want to join me in making a difference to many peoples lives?
I’m Flossie, a 12 year old jockey in the Shetland Pony Grand National.
While living my best life, racing Shetland ponies at top speed and entertaining hundreds and even thousands of people, we are also raising awareness for the early diagnosis of cancer. Bob Champion is living proof that early diagnosis significantly improves the survival rate in the fight against cancer. Bob travels to all our shows and talks about his journey.
The Bob Champion Cancer Trust was established in honour of Bob Champion, a former Grand National winning jockey who faced a life-threatening battle with cancer. His journey highlighted the need for timely diagnosis and treatment, inspiring the trust to focus on education, research, and community support. The trust aims to ensure that more people are aware of the signs and symptoms of cancer and understand the importance of seeking medical advice promptly.
Bob Champions Cancer Trust and the Shetland Pony Grand National organise events, workshops, and campaigns aimed at educating the public about cancer prevention and the importance of regular screenings. Their initiatives also focus on providing support to cancer patients and their families, ensuring that no one faces this journey alone.
As the Shetland Pony Grand National continue to support Bob Champions Cancer Trust, it's essential to remember that early diagnosis can make all the difference in the fight against cancer. By spreading awareness and encouraging regular health checks, we can save lives and help those affected by cancer navigate their challenges with hope and strength. Together, we can champion the cause of early detection and improve outcomes for future generations.
Come and meet Bob and the SPGN team at the London International Horse Show 18th-22nd Dec.
