Did You Know
Period products can cost as much as 5 times more in rural indigenous communities than in urban areas? At Flowbox, we are raising funds to donate period products to rural indigenous communities in Canada to increase access to these necessary products that can bring dignity and opportunities to rural indigenous menstruators. Our goal is to empower indigenous women and all menstruators to be able to live their life with independence and agency to be able to control their health and wellness in the way that is best for them.
About Organizer
FlowBox is a student-led non-profit established in 2023 by Hana Reid and Ezgi Kara. As an organization, we seek to build relationships with indigenous communities and local grassroots organizations to meet the needs of indigenous menstruating youth unique to their community. Through initiating donations, working with sponsors, local businesses, other organizations, and foundations to ensure a future for menstrual empowerment in rural communities.
Our Mission
Our organization was created in response to the Truth and Reconciliation Call to Action 19. We strive to empower indigenous menstruators in at-risk communities through the distribution of period products, advocacy, and education.
