A Peace Plan for a Safer Florida Rally

I’m Zoe, the Fund Developer for March For Our Lives Florida. I was sitting outside on a picnic bench at my middle school when shots rang out on Valentine’s day- 17 of my neighbors were murdered right next door. I dashed to the main office, fearing I would die.
After the shooting, I became involved in March For Our Lives because I did not want to leave the fate of my life in the hands of lawmakers who simply offer thoughts and prayers. Over the past year, I have organized, protested, and registered voters with my friends and I can't wait to show you what we’ve been working on.
We just rolled out the Peace Plan for a Safer Florida, a set of policies that will cut rates of Floridian gun violence in half within the next 10 years. The plan consists of six main points: C.H.A.N.G.E.
Change the standards of gun ownership,
Halve the rate of gun deaths in 10 years,
Accountability for the gun lobby and industry,
Name a Director of Gun Violence Prevention,
Generate community-based solutions, and
Empower the next generation.
We are the first chapter to develop a Peace Plan specifically for our home state of Florida- our bills are written and ready to be sent to the floor! Attached to the GoFundMe is the full eight page plan that we wrote.
But wait- it gets better ;)
To announce our life-saving Peace Plan For A Safer Florida, we are hosting a press conference at Rally to Tally 2- a sequel to our Rally to Tally earlier this year. After our lawmakers shut us out of the vote to arm teachers, we told them that we’ll be back.
Well, we’re going back. And we’ve got a plan. A Peace Plan for a Safer Florida.
We need your help to bring our legislation to Tallahassee. We’ve got the students, but now we need the bus. Can you chip in $5 to help us cover $1700 dollars of transit for our student organizers?
Thank you so much for your continued support of March For Our Lives. We wouldn’t be able to advocate for CHANGE without you, and we’ll keep you updated as Rally to Tally 2 approaches! And, as always, if you have any questions or would like to contribute in other ways, please email me at [email redacted]!
Fund Information:
All money is going to our treasurer’s, Aly Sheehy, bank account, and all funds will be withdrawn and handled by her to rent vans to take March For Our Lives members from their towns to Orlando, where our bus will be traveling to Tallahassee.
