Fluke Horse Accident

A complete fluke *unknown accident* causes change of plans; and amazing help from friends.

Watching strange (and some shallow) conversations unfold on facebook, I've had a literal epiphany and can't help be thankful that my life was saved; Saturday September 7th. I was around the barn taking care of the horses, almost the full extent of my knowledge. I believe I went 3-4 hours before being found with a head injury, I suspect caused by the gelding smashing my head against a wall; or something similar to this. The gelding was loose, and otherwise would have been stalled. A short attempt to drive me to the hospital ended with 2 ambulances arriving within minutes and an Ornge helicopter arriving minutes later. I was airlifted to the amazing London Victoria Trauma unit. They did everything right (including making sure I didn't move with a neck brace on- oops). There for 5 days, I received stitches, CT Scans, so much care, with more to come (potential bone surgery, time healing, etc).

I have amazing people looking after horses in both locations, one of which I feel I owe my life to.

This was not something to be predicted, this was likely my safer group of horses, the horse I suspect did this was one I have had for 20 years. My message is this... get over the little things, stop complaining about such minimalism when your life could be taken at any moment (horse or otherwise- from other stories I am aware of). I've been in many more dangerous situations than this and am completely baffled that this became what it has.

My one goal is to reduce some owned horses (in progress as it was before). My other goal is to get the 2 stallions shown, which will require another rider now as I think I'm out for a while. One has been ridden recently; the other has to be backed- he was prepared and close.

I would love funding towards this, horse care, and possible medical costs. If people would like breedings, I would be happy to contribute the proceeds towards future breedings for Fabulore THF and Wyzdom HR. I foremost want to remind people to be kind to one another, you NEVER know when something can change.
