Fluttering Wings Foundation

Kathy Zingler has dedicated her life to helping others. The past 4 years she had courageously battled ovarian cancer and experienced first hand the impact on mental health that cancer has had on loved ones.

 

Chronic life threatening illnesses not only impact the patient, but also the supporting family members. It is critical to the care of patients suffering from chronic diseases that they have a good support system.

 

As a result of watching her husband stand by her side over the last 4 years, she witnessed first hand the impacts it had on his mental health. Kathy identified the gaps in care in the health care industry, and the need for quick, reliable mental health support and counseling needed for family members. Too often, family members may wait months to get into a physiologist appointment. The need for immediate mental health support is paramount for the family members of  patients with incurable and chronic diseases.

 

If you knew Kathy, you would know that even though she lost her battle with cancer, she wanted to still provide unconditional support for those family members suffering from the impact of deadly illnesses of loved ones.

 

Your generous donation will be used to create a non profit organization called Fluttering Wings Foundation in honor of Kathy’s selfless support to friends and family over the years. 

 

Fluttering Wings will help bridge the gap for family members needing mental health support while being there for their loved ones in palliative care. The mission of the organization will be to help family members suffering from mental health challenges as a result of their loved ones condition and connect them with mental health professionals. Fluttering Wings will find family members quick, immediate access to mental health counselors at no cost.

 

Donations will be used to fund operational costs, as well as directly help cover the costs for family members appointments with the mental health providers.
