Fly the Focus Bigband to New York!

Hi!

Wij zijn de Jazz Focus Bigband, een jongerenband uit Amsterdam. Wij hebben een grote passie voor samen muziek maken. Zo hebben we twee keer op rij de eerste prijs van het Prinses Christina Concours binnengesleept en hebben we op het North Sea Jazz mogen spelen.

Onze grote droom is om met z'n allen naar New York te gaan. Daar kunnen we namelijk vette masterclasses volgen van o.a. het Lincoln Centre Orchestra en kunnen we naar bijzondere concerten én die zelf geven! Zo kunnen we de scene proeven van dé jazz hoofdstad van de wereld. Van deze reis kunnen we heel veel leren als (toekomstige) professionele musici.

Om dit plan werkelijkheid te maken zijn wij van alles aan het doen: een cd opnemen, concerten verzorgen, fondsen aanschrijven... Maar helaas is dit niet genoeg. We moeten namelijk veel kosten maken: vliegtickets, hostel, eten...

Eerder hebben we al bijna 9.000 euro kunnen inzamelen met uw hulp. Dat is echt fantastisch!

Helaas blijken de kosten toch hoger dan verwacht en is het nog spannend of we ons budget rond gaan krijgen. Daarom zou het nog mooier zijn als wij tot de 10.000 euro weten te komen!

Met uw steun kunnen wij onze droom waar maken. Elke bijdrage wordt enorm gewaardeerd!

Hi!

We are the Jazz Focus Bigband, a youth bigband from Amsterdam. We are very passionate about music. In previous years we've competed in the Prinses Christina Concours twice (and won first price). We've also had the great honor of playing at the North Sea Jazz festival.

Our big dream is to take our band to New York; there we can follow master classes with the amazing Lincoln Center Orchestra and visit other major places of the New York jazz scene. We can even give some concerts of our own! We believe such a trip could really help us develop as (future) professional musicians.

We're doing everything we can to realize our plans: recording a cd, organizing concerts and applying for funding... But we still need your help!

With your support we have already collected nearly 9,000 euros to help us cover our expenses, such as flight tickets and other costs of our stay. This is truly amazing and we are very grateful for everyone supporting us so far!

However, costs have turned out a higher than expected, as some budget resources are still unsure. With your support we could reach 10,000 euros, which would bring us one step closer to realizing our study trip. Every small contribution will be very much appreciated!
