FlyHighland Ltd - Not-For-Profit Airline
Donation protected
Hello!
My name is Thomas Eccles, Managing Director of FlyHighland Ltd. We want to provide essential air service to the Highlands and Islands at a price financially achievable by everyone. We are a not-for-profit and want to make our tickets as accessible as possible for everyone to fly.
Why is connectivity important in the economy?
Without connectivity, people are locked out of job opportunities, tourism sustains or grows slower, and essential services are harder to obtain. With better connections, healthcare can be easier accessed by everyone, and learning will become more accessible to the next generation.
We want to serve the islands surrounding Scotland, initially providing services to the following: Stornoway, Kirkwall, Sumburgh or Lerwick, Benbecula, Barra, Broadford (Isle of Skye) & Inverness. (Map Shown Below)
Operating these routes, we want to benefit the local communities and focus on growing business and providing service that was not available before. We are planning on using small, efficient commuter aircraft on these routes, smaller than aircraft on some of these routes already.
Legal Notice: Money raised from this fundraiser goes directly to FlyHighland Ltd's bank account. Nothing goes directly to Thomas Eccles. All money donated goes directly to start the airline.
How are we planning to make money?
Tickets.
We will primarily make money through ticket sales, which will be supported and eventually lowered by individuals who want to become airline members and pay an annual/monthly membership fee for certain benefits.
Membership.
Members receive benefits such as an upgraded cabin bag size and weight, discounts for last-second flight purchases, and last-second booking changes without penalty. And much more!
Advertising on board
We want to offer advertising space onboard our aircraft (and even the aircraft's exterior if the business wishes). Advertising will be inside the onboard newsletter. We want to allow island and mainland businesses to advertise on board at a rate that will see a significant return on investment.
PSO Routes
Public Service Contracts are air routes such as Wick to Edinburgh (Currently talking to the Highlands Council regarding this particular route!), Stornoway to Benbecula, Glasgow to Barra, to name a few! You obtain funding to operate these routes. With our structure, we believe we will be able to provide as much community growth and economic development as possible to these areas that the PSC Routes serve, and we will be applying for each route as they become available over the coming years.
Funds raised through GoFundMe are used to setting up the Airline and pay for things such as an AOC (Air Operators Certificate), essential safety training for staff members, aircraft acquisitions, and so much more. We provide monthly updates for those who want to stay up to date by subscribing to our mailing list.
