My name is Soda Gold and last Thursday my wife, daughter and in-laws were out to dinner when my wife started to have heavy vaginal bleeding. She was on her menstrual cycle but this was much more, pouring down her legs. We went to a hospital and the nurses and doctors got the bleeding to slow but for reasons I wish I had questioned then, we were released. The next morning she called me at work and had explained that she was bleeding out again.. we rushed to the hospital closest to us and we’re there until Sunday, then transported to Saint Joes. They diagnosed her with a very rare condition in her uterus. Uterine arteriovenous malformation (AVM) is defined as abnormal and nonfunctional connections between the uterine arteries and veins. Although the patients typically present with vaginal bleeding, some patients may experience life-threatening massive bleeding in some circumstances. Vanessa bled out again before finally having emergency procedures done on Tuesday. It’s been a whirlwind of a week for our family and especially Vanessa. 4 hospitals, 3 ambulance rides and another upcoming procedure have us humbly asking for
help.
