Five Nights at Freddy's: The Musical ~ a passion project :)

In 2023, during a tech crew set-building meeting for the theater troupe at our high school, I was having a conversation with one of my fellow crew members and friends through which it came up that a few years prior, I had written about halfway through the script of a full-length jukebox musical inspired by a horror video game franchise that is very popular with our friend group and our generation as a whole: Five Nights at Freddy's. It did not take long before word of this musical spread like wildfire throughout members of the troupe—actors and techies alike—and, before I knew it, I had taken on the challenge of completing the script for my friends to behold. Why? Because during our troupe's upcoming production of The Little Mermaid, we planned to utilize the stage during the few hours in between matinee and evening shows to act out our own mini-production of this FNaF musical.
I did finish the script in time (it turned out about as good as it could have been, if I say so myself), and with the help of a quick trip to Party City for props, the techies performed the unrehearsed musical in front of an eager audience of rowdy high-schoolers. Or, at least, performed segments of it. The time we had was not nearly enough for a full reading of even the first act of the musical, and between having to dodge around set pieces for The Little Mermaid that were on stage and accommodating to the occasional interruption for official theater business, it makes sense that the whole thing was rather messy and we didn't exactly get to do everything we had hoped.
Thus brings us to the purpose of this fundraiser :)
It has been nearly a year since these FNaF musical shenanigans took place, and despite the unprofessional nature of the production, everyone who participated in it was left curious and wondering as to what could have been if we'd ever gotten a real opportunity to make this show possible—or what could be, if we did work to get that opportunity sometime in the future. That's where you come in.
Since our high school's auditorium is school property and cannot be used for unofficial productions (much less one centered around a dark-comedy musical that's based on a horror game with darker themes), in order to get access to a proper stage, rental of a venue is required. The city's public auditorium, which most of us are well-acquainted with thanks to it often being the venue for our school's homecoming dance, is available for both commercial and private rentals, and it would be the best location for us to put on this performance. To rent the auditorium for 7 hours (which is the minimum required time it must be rented for), it would cost around $1000 when accounting for taxes and fees, along with a $500 damage deposit that will be refunded if the auditorium is left in the same condition it was in prior to the event. Ignoring the $500 damage fee, the $1000 may seem like an unattainable goal, but it really isn't; if 20 people pitched in $50, or 30 people donated $34, that would be enough to reach it.
We are aware that this whole thing is a rather silly endeavor, but it means a lot to us. As funny as it may sound, we've actually made a lot of really amazing memories through the experience that was our initial attempt to perform this show, and any opportunity to do more and go beyond that would mean the world to all of us; and, as the author of the script, to me especially.
It is currently not set in stone whether we would allow for an audience during the performance (if we did, it likely wouldn't be a particularly large one), but it will definitely be recorded and later edited into a full video for archival purposes that we will gladly share around with friends, family, and those who may request to see it (regardless of donation status, since we are not profiting off of this production in any way whatsoever).
Of course, for legal reasons, we will not monetize from this production, and all money earned from this fundraiser will go towards renting the auditorium (or if we somehow exceed our goal, the funds will go to the $500 damage fee or towards buying a few props and set pieces for us to work with). Also, this fundraiser is NOT officially affiliated with our high school, and we are refraining from specifically naming it and any other full names for privacy purposes.
♡ Thank you so much for your time and for considering donating! ♡

P.S. - Any videos/clips attached to this fundraiser are from a recording of the previously described mini-production of this show that we did during The Little Mermaid. As you likely expect, it is NOT very good. If we were to reach our funding goal, the cast would have actual advance notice to rehearse, the recordings would be of better quality, and the story would actually be told properly. Please keep this in mind :)
P.P.S. - this account may be under my mom's name just in order to collect funds because I am a minor, but the person writing all this is still me (Cat)
