Struck down, but not Destroyed

This is a story of a compassionate 23-year-old fighter, he is a son, brother, grandson, and friend. Scott Lackey has faced way more than any young adult should have to face. He fights every day to just be able to get up and out of bed. Scott was riding with a friend on their motorcycles on 11-1-2022. Scott was struck by a driver of an SUV, the driver was distracted and plowed right into Scott's motorcycle. This SUV knocked Scott across 4 lanes of traffic. Thank God the other traffic moving did not hit him or run over him also. We thank God for the helmet he was wearing, it saved his life. Scott's right leg was damaged below the knee badly. He was flown to Charlotte for emergency surgery because they could not stop the bleeding. Since 11-2-2022 Scott has had 4 surgeries and will face more in the future. The doctor ended up in the last surgery taking 4 inches of bone out of his leg. Once he is healed enough for another surgery they will be doing a bone graft, taking bone from his hip and putting it into his leg. He has faced and will face a lot of pain and suffering just to be able to walk again. Being immobile takes a toll on your mental health not to mention your physical health. Scott can not put any pressure at all on his leg and has to stay seated or laying down way more than what is comfortable for anyone. He is weak and fighting depression. Scott can not do anything about a settlement until the doctor releases him. The last update on a timeline was after his last surgery where they took the bone out of his leg and the doctor stated then maybe two years before Soctt will be able to start walking again. Scott is a hard worker and a very compassionate young man. He will help anyone he can. We are trying to raise money to help with his expenses. He has bills that still need to be paid even tho he has no money coming in. His sister is managing his health care at home and supplying medical equipment. His grandmother and grandfather provide transportation back and forth to Charlotte every week. His father is taking him to all his appointments and surgeries. The family is (as a family should) provided and will provide all the care and help they can. Scott has bills and expenses above what the family can cover alone. He has exhausted every opportunity to have funds available and is now trying to think of any way he can to pay his bills. He has to travel back and forth to Charlotte every week and do antibiotics through IV at home. He is worn out physically and getting mentally exhausted. Support from the community, family, and friends will bless him greatly. We ask that you donate any amount you can, if you are unable to donate please pray. Pray for the healing of his body, and pray for God to make a way to get his expenses paid so he can have some mental relief during this time. Thank you for reading Scott's story.
