****October 2023 Update****
6:49pm on 10/30/2023 Our miss Leigh lost her battle with cancer.  It has been a long and tough 4 years battling it and she gave it her all.

She passed away peacefully and surrounded by the love and laughter of family.  She has successfully completed her journey on Earth & has moved on to her Spiritual journey where she will remain with us forever.

Plus, this is not goodbye, it is never goodbye.  It is and always will be:
See you later alligator
After a while crocodile
See ya soon raccoon
Be sweet parakeet
Give me a hug ladybug
Give me a kiss goldfish
Till then penguin

Till we meet again our gorge, our goose, our goober pants, our dumbledoo, our skidoosh, our loverleigh, our beautiful girl.

***6/2023 Update***

We are happy to report that Leigh is in remission for her Cancer as of May 2023 - we are beyond excited by this.  She will continue to have scans every 3 months or so to monitor the status - fingers crossed it remains in remission.  We are still working with her current team at Shande to manage the symptoms caused by the Cavernous Transformation in her portal/splenic vein confluence.  We are also continuing to be in contact with AdventHealth Orlando as well as a few other hospitals to see if there is anything they can do now to help her situation.

All in all she is feeling good, having fun and progessing.  Thank you all for your support, prayers and love through all of this.  While the journey is not over yet, we are in great spirits.

***2022 Update ***

Sadly on February 3rd, 2022 we were told Leigh's cancer had relapsed ~ a short 4 months prior to this her scans were clear showing no signs of cancer.  However, in those 4 months Leigh had the most amazing time going to school and making new friends, being a normal kid for the first time in 2 years and we could not be more grateful for that.  We are now back to the battle and fighting to get her back to being just a kid again.

This relapse was extremely rough not just emotionally but physically for Leigh - the cancer grew back where it started but it grew in such a way that it created a bowel obstruction.  We began treatment for the relapse pretty much immediately so that we could get the tumor to shrink and make the obstruction go away - the first round was very successful shrinking the tumor by 20% which was enough for the obstruction to be completely gone.  Thankfully the cancer was localized to just this one spot.  It is not determined yet how many rounds of combination chemotherapy/immunotherapy Leigh will go through but it will be at least 6 rounds but could be as many as 12 - one round every 3 weeks (1 week on, 2 weeks off) and each round must be done inpatient.   There is also the potential for her to receive more radiation but this is on the back burner until we know how many rounds of combination treatment she will have and what the doctors recommend given she relapsed so quickly.

We are continually grateful for all your prayers and support ~ Much love and hugs ~ Team Leigh

***2019 Origin Story***

On November 22, 2019 our daughter Leigh was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma Cancer forever changing our lives.  We have a long journey as the treatment plan is about a year and half long.  In conjunction with this being a long road ahead, it will create a financial burden on our family as we will have to pay for medications, hospital stays, travel and many other facets of this treatment plan.  Any help that can be given is greatly appreciated.  We love all the support and prayers we can get.  Thank you!

We will use this page to communicate & provide updates on Leigh. It will be our main method of communication. We love all of you, your support & continued prayers. As you can imagine we are very overwhelmed with emotions & would appreciate your consideration on not reaching out to us directly for updates as we will post them here. Thank you & We love you all ~ xoxox Leigh's Mom & Dad
