HELP US MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
The Countess is an unwavering force in the fight to protect women rights and child safeguarding. We are entirely unfunded and completely apolitical. We are a single-issue organisation. But we can't do it alone.
We need your support to continue our tireless work holding back the tide of policies and Bills being pumped out by our government at the expense of women and children’s rights.
Since our inception in September 2020, we've etched remarkable achievements into history, and now, we're inviting YOU to be a driving force behind our vital cause.
PRISON AMENDMENT BILL
We are the first advocacy group in any self-ID jurisdiction, anywhere in the world, to bring forward an amendment Bill which will exclude prisons from the scope of a gender recognition certificate. Thanks to the hard work and relentless campaigning, we have successful secured enough TDs to sign our bill so that a long-overdue debate will now take place on the floor of the Dáil. Our opponents will have to defend the indefensible; the placing of men who say they are women in the women’s prison. #WeWillBeHeard CAMPAIGN
In 2020, we responded to a letter calling for gender-critical people in Ireland to be stripped of their fundamental right to political representation. Our viral #WeWillBeHeard campaign shattered silence, thrusting gender-critical voices into the spotlight, effectively ending the era of "No Debate" in Ireland. We've ensured that every perspective counts in the crucial dialogue surrounding gender and identity.
FIRST AND ONLY PUBLIC POLL ON GENDER IN IRELAND
We led the charge with the very first Irish public poll on gender identity and single-sex spaces, offering invaluable insights into public sentiments.
SINGLE SEX TOILETS IN SCHOOLS
We've taken on the pressing issue of mixed-sex toilets in secondary schools, capturing front page headlines of The Irish Times and RTÉ Liveline, as well as equipping parents with resources to best safeguard their children's privacy and security.
MATERNITY LEGISLATION
Our campaign #TheseWordsBelongToUs defeated an amendment that would have removed the word Woman from Maternity protection legislation.
Our organisation alone spotted the planned amendments hidden within the general scheme of the Work-Life Balance Bill.
EMPOWERING ADVOCACY
We provide parents and citizens with essential toolkits and resources to resist gender ideology, the indoctrination of schoolchildren and defend female sports. Such grass-root engagement has earned recognition on local radio stations for protecting girls and women in sports.
SHAPING POLICY
Our submissions to key public consultations have helped shaped policy decisions on critical matters such as Prison Service Rules, Children's Rights, EU Gender-based Violence, and more.We have made submissions to the following public consultations: Prison Service on Prison Rules, IHREC, UN on Children, EU on Gender, EU on Gender-based violence, Children’s Rights and Capacity, NCCA Draft Curriculum Junior Cycle, NCCA Draft Curriculum Senior Cycle, HSE on language, and the Equality Legislation Consultation. You can read our latest submission here: https://thecountess.ie/ncca-sphe-submission
We have also provided expertise on speeches in Seanad Éireann. We have lodged our proposed amendment to The Criminal Justice (Incitement to Violence or Hatred and Hate Offences) Bill with the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Justice.
BOOTS ON THE GROUND
We're right where it counts, with information stalls in Limerick, Cork, and Galway, raising awareness of the issues including women’s sports and prisons. Our information stalls have been a great success to date and we will continue to engage at the grassroots level, as well as advocating for policy and legislation changes at the state level.
8 PILLARS OF CONCERNS
Our mission is guided by eight vital pillars, addressing the following pivotal areas:
1. Single-Sex Provision
2. Language
3. Legislation
4. Prisons
5. Schools & Safeguarding
6. Transitioning of Minors
7. Sport
8. Lesbian Erasure
We will continue to campaign passionately across all eight pillars, offering insights and in-depth analysis on issues impacting women and children, from combating male violence against women to exposing the detrimental impact of pornography. But we can't achieve these monumental strides alone.
We need YOU to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with us, to ignite real change, and to ensure our impact reverberates far and wide.
Help us to continue to grow. No one takes a salary. No one gets paid. We are all volunteers.
Look at what we have achieved so far.
Become a part of history. Together, #WeWillBeHeard!
