Want to join us in making a difference? We are raising money to benefit the Foundation of Orthopedics and Complex Spine Inc (FOCOS), and any donation will help make an impact.

The FOCOS mission is to provide access to optimum orthopedic care and improve the quality of life in Ghana and other countries continues. The cases that FOCOS treats are among some of the most severe in the world – many that no other team of surgeons would dare touch. The highest level of medical service is provided, comparable to any such orthopedic hospital in the world.

If you are in New Jersey, we will be having an outdoor socially distanced event to raise further funds to change the lives of children in West Africa with life-threatening spinal conditions.  Local Board Members Peter Akwaboah, Yaw Asamoah and John Westfall-Kwong will match up to $10,000 of funds raised for this event.

The outdoor event will be at a private residence in Short Hills, NJ (address provided to all attending contributors) on September 12th from 4 to 7 pm.

COVID has had an adverse impact on the children at FOCOS Orthopedic Hospital through loss of critical funding and our ability to provide more necessary surgeries.  If you are able, our children need your support today in order to receive life-transforming surgeries.


FOCOS has made the difficult decision to cancel all of our indoor flagship events for 2020. These events bring in approximately 70-80% of our annual funding and the funds are critical for us to continue our mission in providing access to optimum orthopedic care and improving the quality of life in Ghana and other countries.


We know that this is a challenging time and there are many unknowns, but our patients do not have the luxury of waiting for the unknown. They need your help and support, even now.


Through relentless efforts and the generous contributions from major private donors around the world, our program transformed from outreach into a permanent fixture in Ghana, with the building and opening of FOCOS Orthopedic Hospital in 2012, serving not only the local community, but patients from across the globe.


As our waiting list of pediatric patients increases, we can’t perform critical surgeries with your much-needed support. As you know, our patients are some of the most vulnerable. They face the challenge of life-threatening conditions and still need our help.
 

Even in these most trying times, we remain committed to providing musculoskeletal care in an underserved part of the world.
