My name is Gabriel Canine (head of BUNNYTEEF), and I'm trying to create my short film FOLD.

I'm currently looking for help to bring FOLD to life through funding.

FOLD is a short film exploring disability and transness. It explores the intimacy of care, disability, transness, gender-affirming care, and domesticity by following a t4t, crip4crip couple in the days after one of them has had top surgery. It stars the incredibly talented Sonera Angel (who is also co-producing FOLD)of Netflix’s Obsession (2023) as “Salem” and Ash Self of Heartstopper (2023) as Riley. The film is to be created with a trans-centered crew, actively hiring ND, disabled, and low-income creatives looking to break into the film industry. It is created by me, Gabriel Canine (he/they/it) of BUNNYTEEF, a full-time autistic sex symbol, gender anarchist and transsexual, multidisciplinary, nonsense-maker whose artist practice addresses trans sex, intimacy, desirability, and religious experiences from a crip, non-monogamous, non-binary, and non-person perspective.

Trans people in the UK are facing discrimination at the hands of the government once again, trying to use us as a scapegoat for their failure to deliver.

Please help us create this celebration of authentic trans, queer, disabled, nd joy and pave the way for media to represent us in the way we actually are, and to rebel against anti-trans rhetoric in the media by bringing this story to the mainstream - to hold our community in a loving embrace during this dark time. I can say, based on the attention that FOLD already has, that my community needs this film at the moment. We need some authentic joy.
