We are a community of creatives, starting up a fringe theatre festival in Folkestone, Kent. We want to enable fresh creativity within live performance for Folkestone and for locals to experience accessible theatre. We are seeking funding to raise money for a logo, website; marketing (flyers & posters); venue costs including hire of lighting and sound; fees to stage management and other admin plus productions. The team are volunteers proffering our time, professionalism and expertise to support nearly 30 shows to enhance live performance in Folkestone with the premise of being non profit.

“FOLKESTONE LIVE” will be a weekend held at the Burstin Hotel and Quarterhouse Theatre from 12th -14th July 2024, showcasing local and visiting professional performers to include cabaret, children's shows, dance, drama, music and stand-up, centred around the artistic hub of the town and harbour. A community devised and organised celebration of live performances including opportunities for local young people or performers wishing to gain experience to find their voice on stage. It will bring first class fringe events to Folkestone at an affordable price to all.

We hope the festival becomes an annual event that grows and expands like Brighton, Camden, Edinburgh and many other places around the country with fringe festivals; bringing local economic vibrancy upon our bars, cafes, hotels, restaurants and shops.

We also wish to initiate a project called "Stand Up Schools" thus encouraging students to participate in a performance competition.
