The Fond du Lac Soccer Association , a 501c3 non-profit organization offers the best services catering to the needs of our families in which we serve. Our association began in 1974 with a membership capped at 125 players and today there are over 1,700 players involved with the organization. The growth of our organization has been possible through leadership, commitment, and service.
One goal for the board of directors is to maintain an affordable environment for all those who play resulting in soccer remaining one of the most affordable recreational opportunities in the Fond du Lac area. The Fond du Lac Soccer Association does not receive funding from the United Way, the City of Fond du Lac, or the Fond du Lac Rec Department.
The Fond du Lac Soccer Complex serves:
-Over 1,700 players (recreational league, travel league, and adult league) = 1,500 of those are ages 4-18.
-Host to two recreational tournaments with 120 teams.
-Host a select tournament in August with eighty-five teams from multiple states.
-Home to Fond du Lac High School, Winnebago Lutheran High School, Fond du Lac Christian School, UW Fond du Lac Falcons, and Fond du Lac Express.
-In addition to the 1200 games above, the complex is host to several camps and clinics.
-Host to Fond du Lac YMCA fall soccer league.
-Collaborating with the Boys and Girls Club to allow their members to fill the remaining spaces on our rec teams. We feel our partnerships mutually benefits the community and helps advance the sport of soccer.
RECENT COMPLEX IMPROVEMENTS
2017
In 2017 the Fond du Lac Soccer Association was able to install new security lighting near the concession stand and bathrooms. We also replaced the ticket booth near the entrance of the premiere field. We added a crosswalk trying to keep the soccer community safe.
2018
In 2018 the Fond du Lac Soccer Association installed a new score board and sound system inside the premiere field. Several of the lights and other parts on the scoreboard could no longer be replaced resulting in the replacement of the scoreboard in the fall of 2018 prior to the high school season. The old sound system needed to be brought to a power source, speakers were set up on a stand, and often garbage bags were placed over the system because it was not weather proof. The sound was of poor quality and extremely awkward to set up. It was fiscally responsible to replace the sound system at the same time as the scoreboard in fall of 2018. We also added hand dryers in the bathrooms.
2019
In July 2019 we are replacing all the signs at the complex. The signs are worn, faded, and are starting to fall off their posts. The current signs also have sharp edges which provides the opportunity for injury. In September 2019 we are expanding the concession stand. Our concession stand was adequate when serving a much smaller club. As our club expands, serving the crowd out of one serving window is no longer feasible. The expansion should allow us to serve more people, in a timelier fashion, allowing for more profits which keeps the costs down for those that play.
2020
With your help and the help of the community provided we reach our fundraising goal; our next project will be the installation of a new turf field. Having a turf soccer field will enhance soccer in our community and the surrounding areas. We will be able to extend our playing season by having limited concern for cancelling games due to poor conditions and have the possibility of hosting area playoff games. The players will benefit through consistent field conditions limiting the threat of injury and provide a safe playing environment.
The current facility is a pinnacle of the Fond du Lac Community. With the assistance of community partners, it will become even better.
Please consider a donation to our turf project. All donations are appreciated and tax deductible.
