Food and Job Skills for 38 children

Donation protected
Life can be tough in Cambodia, a nation classified as a Least Developed Country (LDC) by the United Nations.  And it can be even harder for the children of Cambodia, where malnutrition, exploitation, severe poverty and early death are facts of life.

But you can change those facts for generations to come, starting with the 48 children of Little Hearts foster home.  With your help the Koya Project and the children will build an operational aquaponics system, delivering nutrient-rich organic fish and vegetables year-round and providing important life and work skills.

Project Phases:
1.      Aquaponics system construction, led by a team of Koya educators, will commence on or about March 15, 2017 and is expected to span 2 weeks.

2.      During construction, the Koya team will teach the children of Little Hearts to build and maintain the aquaponics system using our mentoring training models.  This hands-on knowledge transfer provides children with vocational skills and improved life and work prospects.

3.      The children at Little Hearts will have access to nutritious fish and vegetables as soon as May 2017, saving money for the home that can be applied in other areas of need.

4.      A Koya educator will provide support and maintenance for the following year to ensure the system is running smoothly and without issues.
