Food for Ebrima Sidibeh and his Siblings
Hey! My name is Yeleni Lopez (they/them). I was contacted by Ebrima Sidibeh over instagram recently. He asked if I could donate any funds to help support him and his younger siblings who are having a hard time buying enough groceries for his family. Unfortunately, I myself am not in a position to give but I wanted to help boost any financial pages where anyone could donate to help support Ebrima.
Ebrima is 17, from Brikama, Gambia, West Africa living with his family, and spends his time looking after his younger siblings. He describes a situation of lack of food, clean drinking water, and a lack of support from his community since he stays at a different compound due to lack of familial support. In addition, Ebrima's younger sibling had recently injured his leg and had recently been taken to the hospital for the pain.
Ebrima had reached out to me as he was not close with anyone in the US, and had begun reaching out through direct messaging on instagram. He had asked about assistance in creating a gofundme campaign, where an authorized person could transfer the funds raised to him. For transparency: The plan is to raise funds through this gofundme campaign and any funds sent to the Cashapp: $JPAmutualaid. This money will be cashed out by me or another authorized person, to then send to Dembo through a World Remit wire transfer service. I would recommend using the honey browser extension service if you choose to donate directly through World Remit to potentially remove the estimated fee.
If anyone is more comfortable requesting evidence in order to be more comfortable donating, please don't hesitate to ask!
