Food for school kids & homeless meal service

Hey everyone,

You asked for it—so here we are! We’ve launched a GoFundMe to help keep Southlake's running. We have had an increase of 70% of people needing our services this year (and its only February)

We’re a grassroots national charity based in Cooranbong, Lake Macquarie, with no ongoing funding, yet we still manage to support communities across NSW and the ACT—from Lake Mac, Central Coast, and Sydney to Muswellbrook, Bega, and beyond.

It costs us $80,000 a year just to stay operational—covering fuel, vehicle insurance, volunteer insurance, public liability, and rent for three locations. On top of that, we spend $50,000 annually purchasing food from Foodbank.

Weekly community meals, feeding up to 100 people

Our Out West Community Food Pantry in Gilgandra, Gulargambone, Coonamble and Mendooran,

Our free movie night for families every school holidays,

2,000 emergency hampers for those in crisis

Community lunches for isolates seniors

Free pre made meals for struggling families and seniors (10,000 a year)

1,000 Christmas hampers and toys for 2,500 children across NSW

Community Hair Project, providing free haircuts in 150 communities nationwide

Toiletry and clothing packs for women and children fleeing domestic violence and homeless families &

our groundbreaking Indigenous Hair Workshop - we travel to remote Indigenous communities and facilitate a 4 day workshop cover the fundamentals of hairdressing
