Food for Street Cats and Dogs in Lockdown Morocco
Donation protected
Three weeks ago we were cleaning up the rubbish tip, finishing the construction of our 2nd cat shelter and this year I felt more prepared for the kitten season that caused such a crisis here last year.
But now a far greater crisis is upon us which ERHAM must respond to urgently. The Moroccan Government Lockdown closed cafes and restaurants 10 days ago, leaving thousands of street cats and dogs without their usual source of food. We are now not only feeding the abandoned cats and kittens at the dump, but the tens of hundreds of street cats and dogs who would otherwise starve.
Please help us to procure food - it's urgent. We don't know when more restrictions might be imposed, stopping the supply completely. We want to stockpile to be sure our street cats and dogs are fed.
Our volunteers work tirelessly everyday, side-stepping police and army in lockdown Azemmour, to get the food to the strays who would otherwise go from hungry to starving to something we can't bear to think about.
