Food for the Front Lines

Donation protected
The idea is simple: Support our New Orleans area hospital clinicians who are working in wartime-like conditions and support our local restaurants who are really hurting at this time.

We need your help.

Together, we can provide high quality meals from locally owned restaurants for the hard-working front-line medical staff at hospitals in the area. We all see the news reports, we all know people who are working tirelessly, supporting patients and putting themselves right in the front lines of the health crisis.

At the same time, restaurants are also facing unprecedented circumstances and every bit of business we can send them helps their staff and their families immensely.

It can cost about $1,000 per meal to feed 50 to 75 healthcare workers.

How many meals can we provide?  How much relief can we bring?  We have restaurants ready to help.  We know all of the hospitals are looking for relief.  We are looking for ways to bridge this gap.  But we need Money.  We want to raise funds to bring meals to where they can be enjoyed by those who need it most. How can you help? Spread the word, and consider a donation. If everyone is able to make a small contribution, together we can provide many days worth of food for our front line workers.

We are working directly with several restaurants in the New Orleans area.  Beginning the week of March 23rd, we will be paying the restaurant owners their costs to feed healthcare workers.  We work with the owners to establish and meet a reasonable budget and ask them to do as much (cooking, packaging, delivery) as they can within the allowed budget.   All money collected will end up in the hands of our local restaurants.  We will regularly update this story with the dates (and hopefully pictures!) of the delivery operations.

We are not asking the restaurants to do this as a donation.  We are doing this to help them keep their doors open during an economic hard time, while also helping to feed and nourish those on the front line.  Again: All money raised will be distributed ASAP to the local restaurants who are providing the food.

Money raised will be withdrawn to our F3 New Orleans bank account.  Our volunteer (thank you guys!) accountants are tracking all money, and receiving invoices from the restaurants.  After invoices have been received and verified, we will cut checks directly to the restaurant as quickly as possible.
