Food support during lockdown in Morocco
Donation protected
Morocco has extended its lockdown until June 10. Means no work for Moroccans, no salary, just little help from the country - and this during Ramadan and the feast which just finished last weekend.
We already used the funded money for distributing baskets with basic food to more than 30 families in need. So they had food for the feast. Let's do another round! People still are in lockdown and can't earn money.
For what we collect money:
We collect money to provide families in need in and around Tamraght/Aourir with staple foods like flour, oil, tea, potatoes, sugar or rice, as well as some veggis and chicken. We limit our activities to this area, because it is not allowed to move during the lockdown. We distribute baskets of 25-30 Swiss Francs/Euros each.
Every 5 or 10 Francs helps to make life easier for a family during the otherwise already challenging time of lockdown.
Why your donation is needed now:
Most Moroccans are day labourers and have no contractual employment relationship. They live from day to day and now that the lockdown has been extended, their situation is likely to get worse. It is possible to get help from the government for the quarantine period, but these formalities are too much for the locals, who would need help but could never go to school. Nor can a family feed themselves with it - especially since at the end of the week Ramadan is beginning.
Who the campaign is from:
"Support Flow to Morocco " is a charity that cares for people and animals in need in Morocco. This GoFundme campaign is an action of Sarah Bischof and Youssef Lotfi. Especially in these times it is important to help each other - as lockdown got extended we want to help families in need.
