You're probably wondering why you should contribute to the mission of Chrissys, especially if you are not a vegetarian / vegan. Well, the answer is simple. Chrissys aims to encourage responsible use of land, water, fuel, and fertilizer by focusing on cleaner eating alternatives, and incorporating more plants into ones every day diet.
As a business owner I hope to be able to make a long term impact on our planet, by educating consumers about how we as individuals have a responsibility to upkeep this planet for the future. My agenda is not to necessarily push a vegan lifestyle on anyone, but rather, to celebrate and encourage the efforts made of those who choose to use almond milk in their coffee, eat less dairy, or opt into less meat on a weekly basis. Every effort made to create change should be celebrated. Every action taken to positively impact the world around us, yields a positive reaction. I want to be able to show others how to embrace the power of choice, while making more ethical and health conscious decisions.
As a first generation American growing up in a household with six other siblings was not easy. We were not born into a family who had money, but my parents built a foundation based on drive, vision, and a passion for creating change. My parents moved to the US from Jamaica in the early 70's with nothing, in hopes of creating a better future for their children, so we could thrive in a country where opportunity is comparatively abundant. They worked tirelessly to get to where they are today as ministers and educators, and I'm thankful for the resilience they've instilled and for showing me the power of hard work.
I have been plant-based for over 20 years now, which inspired me to start my own food business. The main business goal of Chrissys is to offer a small line of organic plant-based meat alternatives, meal prep & catering services, and to run a mobile food vending operation. I started the business in 2018, offering meal prep and catering, but it has been a difficult venture without access to the necessary tools and equipment needed.
That being said, without the funds needed, I cannot accomplish these goals. My mission is to be able to share my love of cooking with the world, and to make plant-based diets more accessible and affordable for all. The main goals of the business include starting a small line of organic plant-based meat alternatives, offering meal prep services, and running a mobile food vending operation. It has been a difficult venture to embark on without the full spectrum of tools and equipment needed for maximum business efficiency.
