OUR STORY
Did you know that the city of Detroit covers 91, 450 square acres? That is enough space to hold the cities of Boston, Manhattan, and San Francisco. In this sprawling city, in the poorest neighborhoods, the distances prevent many people from going to a grocery store or even a food bank. When you are poor, a car is a luxury. Bus routes don't cover the whole city and walking long distances is just not possible for many people. We are Deo Gratias Ministries Detroit and we are committed to helping people in poor isolated parts of the city access nutritious food.
Deo Gratias Ministries Detroit was founded by two Felician Sisters with a passion for serving disadvantaged people. The Sisters are convinced they need a food truck to bring good food to people who can't access it. With your generous support, this mission can be fulfilled. In the words of the Capuchin friar Blessed Solanus Casey, "[We] thank God ahead of time."
