Food for the Frontline NYC

So many of us are struggling with being told to STAY HOME and feeling helpless while there are hundreds of dedicated doctors and nurses throughout NYC working long hours and in many cases double shifts. Together we are working to raise money to send #FoodfortheFrontline at Weill Cornell Medicine / New York Presbyterian Downtown Hospital, Lenox Hill, Langone, Bellevue and MSK!
Food is not easy for them to get during 12 hour shifts with everything being closed. And even if a restaurant is open, the doctors and nurses are trying their best to limit additional contact to the outside, trying to avoid anything or ANYONE in order to contain the virus here in NYC.
The goal is 2-fold:
1. Raise money to spend locally at restaurants to
2. Send Food to the FRONTLINE.
Many restaurants that have chosen to stay open are family owned and operated; we want to support these restaurants and help them cover costs and keep their already scaled back staff employed. Money raised is immediately going back into the NYC economy. I am personally laying out the money to the restaurants to make sure they get paid immediately and do not accumulate bills. I will be using the money raised through GOFUNDME to reimburse myself for the bills paid to each restaurant.
The restaurants, who are hospital compliant (individually wrapping portions) are also able to deliver #FoodfotheFrontline while we STAY HOME; we have navigated the contacts at the hospitals to make sure they get through seamlessly. SO FAR, the community of New Yorkers, as well as people from around the country, have raised over $45,000 - in just under 1 month - allowing us to send on-going shifts of food to the hospitals from restaurants that include, but are not limited to, Schnipper's, Hill Country Barbecue Market, Duke's NYC, The Palm Tribeca, Murrays Bagels, Big Daddi's Smoke House, Tre Sorrelle and The Dig Inn. Restaurants are being added weekly.
Collectively we are all working TOGETHER while APART to make a difference during these unprecedented times. Thanks to each and every one of you for helping to spread the word. #ittakesavilliage #WeAreNYC #FoodfortheFrontline
