FOODOLOGIE BAKED GOODS NEEDS YOUR HELP!

If someone had told me that my curiosity for baking and passion for food would lead to me pivoting my career and opening my very own bakery within just 3 years of learning how to bake– I would have never ever believed you. BUT, HERE WE ARE! With a ton of hard work, incredible community support, and a lot of delicious baked goods– WE DID IT! I am so excited, anxious, happy (pretty much ALL the feelings)– to be entering this new big chapter for my small business.
Foodologie Baked Goods has been 100% self-funded from the very beginning. In the past 3 years everything the business has made has gone directly back into growing the business. Every single penny earned from all the pop-ups, special event orders, wholesale partners, and e-commerce sales has made its way back into the slow yet very steady growth of Foodologie. I take pride in knowing that I have never had to seek outside funding when it comes to my business… well, that is up until recently.
In this new chapter, some circumstances have changed resulting in me having to go into unfamiliar territory with loans, grants, and lines of credit–however, unfortunately I have to admit I am still coming up a little bit short in funds. Prior to committing to this new chapter, I did my best to account for unexpected expenses–but, to my dismay, there is a bit more than what I accounted for.
To be specific:
-Permits ain’t cheap and because I am a food business–almost every department in the city is involved in this project–meaning a lot of $$$.
-This year brought new requirements/guidelines for certain things. In other words, although the space was up to code in previous years–2023 brings on new requirements that I must abide by now and therefore change immediately in order to be compliant with laws/codes.
-Although the space came with certain equipment/appliances that work in great condition, this doesn’t always fly with the city–so equipment that already exists and in working condition must be removed and replaced.
-There has been an unexpected price increase for some commercial appliances. As we know, everything seems to be going up in price and commercial equipment and supplies is no exception.
-Plus, so much more but I won’t bore you with the details.
In addition to these expenses, our opening date continues to be pushed back further and further as the permit process with the city has been quite a lengthy one which is resulting in paying rent on a space we can't even use yet.
So given all these circumstances, here I am today kindly asking for your help.
This is actually soooo incredibly difficult for me to do as I am typically not one to ask for help but one of the most valuable things I have learned from this entrepreneurship journey is the importance of courage and community. It is because of these two things I have mustered the courage to go before you all, my community, to be honest and transparent with the growing pains of starting a brick & mortar business.
If you are reading/watching this there is a big chance you’ve supported Foodologie one way or another throughout the years and I am FOREVER THANKFUL FOR THAT; you’ve actually already done so much for me already, but if you are able to donate to help me get the doors to my bakery open, it would mean the world to me.
No donation is too small, as I will take all the help I can get. Every dollar will go directly into funding Foodologie’s newest chapter.
I’ve said it many times before and I can say it a BILLION times more… THANK YOU FROM MY WHOLE HEART FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT OF FOODOLOGIE. Baking for you all is my greatest happiness and pleasure and I can not wait to be serving you fresh out of the oven baked goods everyday!
Thank your for giving me this opportunity. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for proving to me that DREAMS DO COME TRUE!
Now, lets go bake some cookies!
