For a new start after flooded house

First of all, thank you for visiting this page. I appreciate this one is for another family in crisis after Storm Dennis.
It was suppose to be just another Sunday, but at around 5am my family were woken up by water coming in to their rented property, when a race for life started, as they had to run away from the basement flat through the window at the back. Then not knowing what just happened, being in shock, and loosing not just things which defines you, but security of having a place to be and the safe place to call your home.
While estimated value of their contents during that time they lived at this property would be around £8,000 there were some priceless things we all have. I'm afraid we lost some family photos since my mum was a child as well. it's all gone now. I am grateful that they are not injured, and they are alive. Even though these are all just things which might be worthless for some, for my family they meant a lot, and they created this safe place called home.
People from the Community are amazing, they are helping as much as they can, and my family could get some clothes (they run away from house without even socks or shoes), they are safe and they are at the emergency accommodation, waiting for what is next.
All the help they get really helps in this hard time when they still have no place to call home, and at least try to start a fresh. I understand that many things can be given, but i'm afraid there is not everything, and some things you just wish you could afford to buy or pay for, this is why I set up this page not to get everything back, but just try to help my family stand up on their own two feet, as in current circumstances none of them are able to come back to work, and me with my apprentice (minimum) wage I am not able to support them as much as I wish, which makes me feel like I am letting them down..
I would like to raise some money for them to help them with finding the place they can again call home, and feel safe, without putting a brave face on and trying to deal with day to day things after such a dramatic experience.
It's hard to write about it, and probably i did not mention a lot of important things or I could use better words, but in this situation I hope I have done the best thing I could by asking for help for my family..
