For a procedure called abdominal Panniculus

Hi my name is Shameka Washington and I’m fundraising for my mom Joyce Simmons. Very often it’s hardest thing for a person who is use to giving so much to others is to ask for help for themselves so we are coming to you her daughter and son Shameka Washington and Joseph Simmons. Our mom is such a beautiful soul and she gave her all to us and for those who know her love her. So about a couple years ago our mom have been doing her best to lose weight by eating healthy, walking and exercising and by the grace of god she managed to lose about 80lbs which made her so proud but to later find out this year that she now have a large hard overhanging abdominal panniculus and now she needs a procedure done called panniculectomy. This had cause her to depressed, heartbroken and ready to give up because now it’s hard for to walk, bath herself or get dress. She now have a caregiver to do everything dealing with her personal hygiene which is embarrassing. This extra growth now weighs about 40-45lbs and has to be removed surgically and if she is unable to have this procedure she could end up bedridden. So me and my brother begin researching doctors to find someone who could do this procedure that takes her insurance and luckily we found a doctor in Lafayette and we were so excited and now all we had to do was get a clearance from her primary doctor in which we did. So about a month goes by waiting on a date we got a call from the doctor saying the insurance will not cover this procedure and we would have to now pay out of pocket and unfortunately we don’t have the money. So now we are calling on our family and friends to help assist with her medical procedure so that she could just enjoy a normal way of life and get back to being the happy go lucky person that we all know. We are asking that you find it in your heart to sow a seed, no amount is to small and if perhaps you can’t could you please share this page for others to see.
