For children whose homes taken by flood
Support for thousand children, women whose homes were taken by the flood.
An earth-filled embankment dam failed on Friday, May 1, at the Sardoba Reservoir in the Saikhunabad District following several days of rain, which caused substantial flooding in the surrounding area.
As a result of flooding in the Syrdarya region of Uzbekistan at least four people were killed and 56 others injured, while one missing remains.
- More than 90,000 people have been evacuated from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan as hundreds of houses were submerged under waters from a collapsed dam.
- More than 2,6 thousand heads of livestock were killed.
- 32 thousand hectares of land were flooded.
- 4711 residential and 277 non-residential buildings in 10 makhallas of 23 localities in Uzbekistan were found in the flooded territories.
The funds collected within this charity event will be used to provide the most necessary assistance to the evacuated 70 thousand people, from Syrdarya region in Uzbekistan and for people in Turkestan region in Kazakhstan including for the acquisition of:
- drugs&medicals;
- clothes and shoes (for men and women);
- for repair and restoration of houses;
- for buying livestock;
- bedding.
How we will transfer money to the affected people?
We will go to Sirdarya region, we will analyze the situation. After which collected money will be distributed among affected people. Money will be transferred to personal account of head of family, in case absence of male in the family twice as much money will be transferred to personal account of woman.
