SNOWDON-For Dave and other Dave’s out there!

At the end of March, I will be climbing Snowdon. This challenge is in aid of raising money for Andy’s Man Club, a charity who offer free in person & online support groups for men across the UK. They run over 100 of these groups every Monday at 7pm to help encourage men to talk about their mental health struggles. 

In December, I lost my brother to suicide, so this amazing charity is very close to my heart. I really believe in what they do and aim to give them funding from this event to perhaps open more Andy’s Man Clubs around the UK. Please read the rest of my story below. 

"Our hearts ache with the loss of a precious life taken too soon. David was a shining light, filled with humor, talent, beauty, kindness, and an infectious energy. We will always hold him close in our memories.

Mental health is a crucial component of overall health and well-being, and it is vital that men prioritize their mental health as much as they do their physical health. Unfortunately, societal expectations of masculinity can often prevent men from seeking help and support for their mental health struggles.

It's time to break the silence and erase the stigma surrounding men's mental health. It's okay to not be okay, and it's important to reach out for help when we need it. Whether it's talking to a therapist, confiding in a friend, or seeking support from a loved one, the first step towards healing and self-care is seeking help.

We want to create a safe space where men can feel comfortable talking about their mental health without fear of judgment. Let's encourage each other to open up and seek support when we need it.

Remember, you are not alone. There is always help available. Take care of yourself and each other.
