For Hannah: Supporting her through Ovarian Cancer

Hi everyone.

 

Not everybody who see's this will know me, or know Shelby and similarly may also not know Hannah but here's what you need to know.

 

Hannah is our friend. Hannah is incredible. Hannah has Ovarian Cancer. Hannah is only in her mid 20s but is fighting and will win.

 

In just the last few months Hannah as gone from living as per any other young woman, to having an enormous ovarian tumour removed via hours long laparotomy surgery, to now going through Chemotherapy and fighting the awful disease that is Ovarian Cancer.

 

Hannah is from the UK and to her all her incredible friends and family overseas please please share this around and get everybody on board to help our girl out. Being from England, and with the Covid-19 pandemic raging, Hannah is going through all of this without her family here, having not seen them for a number of years which has been unimaginably hard for her.

Living in Warnambool means she travels to Melbourne for Chemotherapy, scans, blood tests and all sorts of other appointments regularly.

Thankfully Hannah has a brilliant partner and his extended family to offer support to her through all of this as well as her close friends here in Australia but none of that makes things any cheaper.

 

Medical bills are only a drop in the ocean despite Medicare subsidising what it can. Together, Hannah and her close support network have been considering all of this, as well as wigs and headwear, clothing changes, food changes and strange cravings, endless amounts of petrol as well as all the other little things nobody considers until they are going through something like this.

Hannah is a BRILLIANT Veterinary Nurse but of course is largely unable to work during this time. Thoughts of adding to her list of qualifications, buying a property and taking holidays are other expenses that now seem out of reach for the foreseeable future but WE CAN CHANGE THIS FOR HER.

 

We are asking for donations simply 'for Hannah'

For food, for petrol, for clothes that make her feel good. For holidays and adventures and to support her ambitions for raising Ovarian Cancer awareness. We want her to be able to live and also plan her best life while she fights and persists with the treatments that makes her feel awful.

 

Some of us are looking at participating in walks and runs and hikes and bakes and all sorts of charity fund raising events to raise awareness and support Hannah and the wider Ovarian Cancer community but as well, can we ask that everybody share this and support Hannah at a personal level to make a hard time, and what will certainly be a difficult aftermath, a tiny bit easier for one of the most brilliant, upbeat and genuine woman we know.

 

Donations will go straight to an account FOR HANNAH, not to us, not to anybody else. This is for Hannah.
