To now raise money for Baby Archies headstone

Archies update.

On 19th January 2024, Jake and Lauren said their final goodbyes to their baby boy Archie.

Over the last 2 months, they have found strength to carry on with love and pride in their hearts for their little boy and now know that a new normal needs to be found as they remember Archie and build memories for his baby brother Albie.

Jake and Lauren have been overwhelmed with the generosity and support shown by family, friends and strangers with so many words of kindness and donations, which has allowed Jake time off work and eased the financial pressures that fail to cease as life goes on.

With Archie now laid to rest, Jake and Lauren are hoping to raise a little more funding to help pay towards a special headstone to always have somewhere for family and friends to visit to remember their baby boy. However, these don't come cheap and so it would be lovely if anyone could support this updated GoFundMe to get Archies final project complete.

Im opening this GoFundMe in support of 2 parents, who have experienced the unimaginable, after losing their baby boy, 3 days after his 1st birthday. Archie went into hospital on the 21st November and was expected to come home the following day, after receiving minimal treatment and being his happy self. Archie never left hospital and in the early hours of 23rd, attempts to resuscitate him were withdrawn....he passed away at 05:28.

Archie's contagious laughter and smiles, and contented nature still resonate deeply with everyone fortunate enough to know him. His absence is overwhelming and has come with the most unexpected blow felt by family, friends, and the countless lives he touched for such a tiny age. The challenges of adjusting to life without him will continue forever and a void will remain impossible to fill.

Archie's little brother Albie, just 5 weeks old, will never get to play with his big brother.... a family left devastated with a new future to rebuild, with many unanswered questions, with even more difficult days ahead as we come to terms with his death.

In honour of Archie's memory and to support his parents as they learn a new way of life without him, I've created this GoFundMe to support time of work for Archie's daddy Jake - there is no financial support nor time to grieve for bereaved fathers after losing a child. This will also go towards supporting Archies mummy Lauren during her ongoing maternity leave allowing a fraction more time to adjust to a very different world.

Nothing can replace Archie - this will allow Jake and Lauren to focus on healing and cherishing Archie's memory without the added stress of financial hardship because of loss of earnings.
