UPDATE 1/24/2022
Jackson update:
Jack had another rough morning, but it’s just his body telling us that he’s not ready to wake up. He simply needs a bit more rest.
They’re still not allowing visitors in his room, which is extremely hard but we’re confident in the staffs judgment. We want to keep his heart rate stable while he heals. Every time he hears our voice he wants to wake up.
They are still keeping him sedated. He did respond to nurses commands this morning when they woke him up, which is great. Also, his pupils are responding to light -again great news regarding his brain activity.
JACKSON UPDATE:
Jackson MADE IT OUT of surgery!! His levels stayed very stable during surgery and he was able to tolerate the anesthesia well. They had to give him some blood, but nothing unusual.
They were able to locate and repair the 3 holes in his bladder. They enlarged the hole and removed the pool of blood and clots that were causing blockage. They inserted a tube to ensure proper drainage along with a catheter which will remain in place for several weeks. They were pleasantly surprised to find that his intestines, liver, and kidneys looked great. They re-examined the area from where they removed the spleen and everything looked good. They inserted a precautionary tube there as well. They were able to completely close his chest/stomach area which will allow him to fully receive the proper nutrients from his feeding tube.
Jack is back in his room and stable. They will monitor him closely all night. He is still hooked to the Ecmo machine which is allowing his body/lungs to completely rest. The Ecmo team will gather a game plan once they feel comfortable with his lung x-ray.
Ortho will then address his spine, pelvis, arm and collar bone. Great news is that this morning jackson was able to wiggle his toes again.
God is so, so good. Please, please keep praying for Jack as he is still in critical but stable condition.
Thank you for all reaching out. I see and hear each and every message.
These donations are a blessing to Johnna who is able to stay with Jack until he is more stable, without the worry’s of driving for her work.
