For Josh, the best Pizzaiolo

Donation protected
Hi everyone,

For those of you who don’t know, my name is Jen and I was Josh’s girlfriend of almost 5 years. Josh and I met in the middle of 2020 when he was still living in Sacramento and I was in SJ. Needless to say, it was interesting trying to navigate a medium distance relationship on top of a global pandemic

But we made it work. We made it through and spent the next 4+ years building memories. From A’s games, Giants games (but never Battle of the Bay games lol), Sharks games, Raiders games, Warriors games, endless bowling frames (even a state championship!), evenings at the lake to fish (he would always say “it’s called fishing, not catching” when we would come home empty handed lol), traveling (from Vegas, to Hawaii, to most recently getting to check off taking the train down to SB in a private room off of his bucket list) and a million binged shows and movies in between.

Josh was full of life and laughter, no matter how much pain he might’ve been in on the inside. He always wanted to make sure everyone else around him was okay before himself. He met people as they were. No judgments and no expectation of them being anyone other than themselves.

On March 24th, Josh was rushed to the ER and two days later, we lost him. It was a whirlwind 48+ hours, but him in that hospital is not how I’ll choose to remember him and I hope those who know him will do the same. I’ll remember his handsome smile and infectious laugh. I’ll remember his knowledge for some many things and will miss his spewing off tons of random facts. I’ll remember our slow mornings of wondering what’s for breakfast but in unison, looking at each other and saying “Taco Bell?”. I’ll remember his kindness and patience for me as I navigated through learning how to love someone else.

There were so many things left unsaid, so many adventures left undone. So I’m asking for your help. To throw Josh the best celebration of life possible. To help do all the things we didn’t get around to doing (train ride to Chicago for pizza, anyone?). To help his twin sister Rachel go on all the adventures with Josh’s nephews who he loved so much and wished he could see who they grew up to be.

No amount is too small and if you’re unable to donate, we’ll take all the good vibes we can as we try to navigate through life without Josh.

Thank you so much in advance,
Jenika
