for Kenton Clarke
As many of you may know, on the 5th of August 2021 I lost my lovely dad and my family lost a piece of its heart. So on the 5th of August 2023, we will be walking up Snowdon in memory of Kenton and we would love for you to read our story and donate if you can!
In October 2018 we found out through a scan that my dad had a tumor on his kidney, once the kidney was removed in February 2019 we were told it was stage 4 so we were so lucky that they got it out!! Dad was constantly tired, drained and on hundreds of tablets. You can imagine how happy we were when his 6-month scan results came back all clear!
However, it didn't last long, as on his 12-month scan we were told that the cancer had metastasized onto his liver. They had a clear plan to reduce the size of the tumor on his liver using oral and IV chemotherapy ready for surgery where they would remove part of his liver, however after 3 rounds of chemo in 9 months we were told there was nothing more they could do.
We were devastated but with the help of Marie Curie Hospice at Home, my dad was able to spend his remaining time with us, with his family, at home! They came every day to check on not only my dad but us as well. They knew how hard it was to watch someone you love fade away in front of you!
Because of them, we got to spend my dad's final moments with him, telling him we loved him and cherishing every second.
We know money is tight at the moment but any little donation would mean the absolute world to us! Marie Curie helped make my dad comfortable and that is all we could have asked for! If you can't donate at the moment please SHARE SHARE SHARE!!
This one is for you dad, love always x
