For Laura Frederick's heart transplant journey

Dear friends, classmates, and colleagues of Laura Frederick,

Our friend Laura's heart is failing a second time after initially having her heart repaired from a bacterial endocarditis infection on November 22, 2022. Now she is waiting for her doctors to determine her candidacy for a transplant. She will have a long journey of waiting for approval and being on the wait list for a suitable donor. It is estimated that she can wait more than 1 year, and that 1 year may be sustained by intensive care.

I am privileged to know Laura from optometry school. Laura is a wife, mother of 2 children ages 14 and 10, and the sole owner of her private practice. As you can imagine, so many people depend on her in a myriad of ways.

Right before the medical emergency, Laura had expanded her practice and took on additional debt. That debt is now a huge burden to her family.

Please join me in enveloping Laura and her family in support and well wishes during this difficult time. Send prayers, send loving words, and send support in any amount. I am writing this with the help of her husband Cam.
