For Lisamarie - help with emergency medical bills

I awoke in the middle of the night on August 22nd with severe abdominal cramping and pain. It came out of nowhere so I just tried to make myself comfortable hoping it would go away, but after a few hours of the pain intensifying, I knew I had to go to the emergency room. The diagnosis was cecal volvulus, which is an intestinal obstruction and torsion, and I was brought in immediately for life-saving abdominal surgery. I spent a week in the hospital and am now home recovering very slowly with a lot of restrictions.

I’m a Licensed Vet Tech with The Animal Rights Alliance on the mobile clinic, and anyone that knows me can tell you that I am an extremely hard worker and always have a smile on my face. I’ve started going back to work in a very limited capacity for short periods of time, and I’m thankful for everyone in my T.A.R.A. family who is making that possible.

The most difficult part right now is the amount of money I owe for my medical care. Without health insurance, the medical bills are astronomical. The total for the surgery, the hospital stay and other incidental medical care is already close to $100,000. I live modestly and unfortunately have no savings account that I can turn to for some cash.

Starting this fundraiser is extremely embarrassing for me, but the financial assistance could honestly turn everything around. Having this amount of debt suddenly hanging over my head is truly crippling and will no doubt haunt me for the rest of my life. My hope is to make an initial down-payment towards my account and then implement a payment plan of some kind when I return to work full-time.

I am grateful for the many friends who have shown concern for me and are wondering if there’s anything they can do to help, so I’m going to give this a try. And if you could please share this for me as well, I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much!!
