For Maya, with love.

Our dear Maya went to the eye doctor with a headache and some eyesight issues and found herself embarking on an awful, horrible adventure no one wants to be on—cancer—a brain tumor. What an absolute bummer for a teenager who'd rather spend those years in choir and foraging for mushrooms than a 5-star stay at Ronald McDonald House. How could a burgeoning food critic be subject to so much hospital food?
Through the past few years, our heroine bravely faced every treatment and surgery slung her way as her brain wrestled its foe into submission time and again. Between battles, she has sung beautiful solos, marveled at mycelium, and acquired her first car, as she side-quested in slinging ice creams and chicken feed.
Maya has been questing less these days. She cuddles in sun puddles with her kitten or enjoys ice cream between card games. She's tired, and she's sore, and she's still got battles before her - but she doesn't face them alone!
By her side, her faithful family stands, united in their resolve to run this race to completion; ever-present with them is a friend that never leaves or forsakes them.
The foe is strong and she is surely the underdog.
We've heard these tales from a distance, feeling helpless but for the power of our prayers to the Almighty, and now they can use our help.
The reality of what's ahead is hard in all ways.
We have it within our power to in some measure relieve the pressures of work, bills, and meals, or the supplies needed for the narrow road ahead.
Please give generously for it will be received with humble gratitude.
