For Moletsane Monyake's Family
Donation protected
Moletsane Monyake, Mlets or Mo as he was known to friends, passed away suddenly in early January 2021 due to COVID-19. He was brilliant, kind, funny, passionate, loving, and has left us far too soon.
Although education does not make the man, Mo was extremely proud of his accomplishments. And they are quite impressive. Dr. Monyake obtained his Master's Degree (with distinction) from the University of Cape Town in 2012 and his Ph.D. from the University of Sussex in 2018. He subsequently returned to his native Lesotho to teach at the National University of Lesotho.
Mo had an engaging sense of humor, a deeply gleeful laugh, and was passionately committed to the cause of advancing political science in Africa. He was a brilliant scholar and had a bright future ahead of him, publishing research on poverty, corruption, and protest in Africa. He was well on his way to becoming a leading scholar on African politics.
More importantly, Mo was a husband, father, and friend. He leaves behind a devoted wife, Mosa, and two young sons in Maseru. Donations are being asked to provide support to his wife and kids. Every cent raised will go directly to her.
