For My Sister, Nicole Solis #forNicole

Friends and colleagues,

As you may know, my immediate family has endured some tough hardships these past few years. My dad, Nicolas, passed unexpectedly in July 2021. We also lost my brother John in December 2022. My sister, Nicole is now battling her own struggle and I ask for your help.

While at work in late December 2022, Nicole experienced a headache, slurred speech, blurry vision, nausea, and muscle weakness on her left side. A few days later, she admitted herself into the emergency room where she discovered she had a stroke earlier that week. These symptoms continue to this day and affect her daily life. She has not been able to go back to work since.

After months of seeing multiple doctors, undergoing exams, waiting for results, and going through tough rehabilitation therapies, her doctors have diagnosed her with Moyamoya disease - a rare genetic condition that affects the blood vessels in the brain. She will have to undergo revascularization surgery to improve blood flow to her brain to improve her quality of life.

She took care of me when I was younger, and helped me grow up. With the help of my parents, she raised her two sons, Andrew and Cristian. They have grown up to be responsible, strong, smart, young men. She has one grandchild, Miles, who is her world. She helped our dad when he got sick and was in the hospital. So, now I ask for your help. Help with medical bills, transportation costs, food, utilities, therapy, medicines, and so much more. And help lift her spirits.
