For Nikita...the Tiny Dancer
Sometimes life takes a turn very quickly and can change everything in an instant.
As many of you know, our friends Yuriy and Oksana of Dance With US endured the scare of a lifetime when their eight-week old baby Nikita went into cardiac arrest a week ago. The news of his miraculous survival gained national attention on the news media, and the family arrived home relieved and thankful for the miracle.
Well...shortly after...a mere 24 hours later...sweet Nikita suffered cardiac arrest again -- over and over without explanation -- until the family was forced to take residence in the Intensive Care Unit at CHEO . For the past 4 days little Nikita has been put through test after test, and of course Yuriy and Oksana have been by his side every second - unable of course to even take their eyes off of him even for a moment for fear of the worst. Sadly, the Doctors are predicting that it could be a very long time that the family will be living at the hospital, and if no cause is found here in Ottawa - they could move them to Toronto for further testing there. Even if they are lucky enough to be able to return home for a short while, the reality is that Oksana will have to stay constantly by Nikita's side for a very long time to come - going to the studio to work and teach will be almost impossible. At the moment, Yuriy has taken leave-without-pay at work, and Oksana is living full-time at the hospital until further notice.
Friends, we need your help. As dance teachers, studio owners, and parents, with no "sick leave" when you are self-employed, we know first-hand how impossible it is to keep our heads above water at the best of times...let alone at a time like what they are experiencing. The costs that will mount as a result are inconceivable -- studio rent, home mortgage, studio costs, even food and parking at CHEO every day --- it adds up very, very fast. As a result, we have decided to make this GoFundMe page...for Nikita. ALL $$$ will go directly to Yuriy and Oksana and their sweet Nikita - in hopes that they will have a little extra aside to allow for some time off, and time together as a family while they deal with this terrible ordeal.
Thank you for reading this and thanking you for your compassion. We sincerely hope that you can join us and help us make a difference for Yuriy and Oksana and their sweet little Nikita at this difficult time. PLEASE SHARE this post....strength in numbers! xoxox And....sincerely....Thank you. TL & Chris & Sienna xoxoxoox
