For our Sister in Song, Wendy Songe

In September 2020, Wendy Songe had a heart-attack. Between September and November, she had numerous medical tests to determine its cause. On November 13th, she was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm. Doctors have determined that she has a cavernous brain malformation (fancy words for a non-cancerous brain tumor), which has now ruptured 2-3 times. The bleeding and swelling in her brain is currently causing a variety of symptoms, making it impossible for Wendy to do what she loves most -- play and teach music!
Wendy is expected to undergo surgery soon to have the mass removed from her brain. She is optimistic about her outlook, but we all know that any surgery has risks, especially one involving the human brain. Her neurosurgeon believes that she will see an immediate improvement in symptoms after the surgery, but that it will take up to 6 months for her brain to fully heal.
Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, Wendy lost a great deal of her income this year. She has used most of her savings to get through the pandemic and pay for medical bills that have accrued as a result of her heart attack and the tests she has needed since then. It will be several months before she is able to teach and perform regularly again. As a dear friend of Wendy's, and her "sister in song", I am inviting you to contribute to this fundraiser to help her through this hard season. If we can join together to support her financially, she'll be able to focus all of her energy on healing!
If you have any questions about this fundraiser, or ideas about other creative ways to help our friend through this tough season, please reach out to me (Erin Mae Music) or Richard Ash (Folkcraft Instruments). We request that you not contact Wendy directly at this time so that she can focus completely on getting the medical care that she needs.
Thank you for your support, kindness, generosity, prayers, songs, and well-wishes for our Sister in Song, Wendy Songe.
